Because of the Subtleties
It’s no secret that I love fountain pens and collect them. My only writing instruments are fountain pens and pencils. When I saw this shop on the depths of the Internet, I couldn’t resist. This was something I wanted to see for myself.
Imagine a store that only sold pencils and accessories. You’re right; it’s not even mechanical; sharpenable wooden pencils are sold there.
Caroline Weaver opened and maintained this cute shop in 2014, converting her passion for pencils into a business. Things are going quite well. Caran d’Ache, Herman Miller, Warby Parker, Whitney Museum of American Art, and other world-famous brands have partnered with this cute shop.
After discussing “Geography is Destiny” with my friends, I needed a bit more sadness. Knowing I would never use it, I bought something to support them. I met lovely people in that store and left with a strange feeling I often experience in New York.
If you’re in New York, stop by. If you pay attention to the subtleties in this world, you will find it more bearable.
